How it works
Everything happens with a person on the other end — not an algorithm guessing at availability.
Who are the companions?
Adults we vet directly — background check, references, and a recorded conversation with our matching team — before they are ever introduced to a family. Many share an immigrant background themselves, or have worked in caregiving, hospitality, or community roles.
How does matching actually work?
Families answer questions about their parent's career, hometown, language, interests, and daily rhythm. A person on our team reviews every profile and proposes a match by hand — we don't auto-assign based on the next available slot.
What happens on a call?
Twenty to thirty minutes over video or phone, on a fixed weekly schedule. Conversation, not a wellness check — though companions do flag anything concerning to the family right away.
What do families see?
A short note after each session: what was discussed, how their parent seemed, and anything worth following up on. No dashboards to log into if you don't want one — just an email.
Can a match change?
Yes. If the connection isn't right, tell us and we'll propose someone new. Most matches settle in after the first two or three calls.
